what is GREEN

My name is Gracie and this is my story.

I am a black lab mix and about 9 years old.

On September 1, 2008, Labor Day, I woke up feeling really lousy. My humans rushed me to Colonial Veterinary Hospital. After a bunch of tests, Dr. Goldberg told them that I was bleeding very badly because of a ruptured tumor on my spleen. In order to save my life, I had to have emergency surgery and several blood transfusions. The surgery, performed by the wonderful Dr. Yanoff, went well but later that day I started bleeding again for an unknown reason. I had to have a second surgery and another round of transfusions. Dr. Goldberg, Emily, and many other dedicated people at Colonial, stayed with me all night and by 7:00 am the next morning I was up and doing much better. I even got to go home the next day.

Although I am healthier than ever now, my humans are still trying to figure out how we are going to afford the the vet bill which came to more than $7,500. We could not have done all this without the financing through Care Credit in which we were able to charge $5,000 of my bill. That left us to pay the remaining amount out of our pocket which means some other bills have gone unpaid. Your small donation today can help my humans.
